Doctor Critical After Pahalgam Shooting: A Tragic Day for Tourists

A young doctor from Tamil Nadu, Dr. A Parmeshwaran, who is 31 years old, was hurt in a terrible shooting in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. He was rushed to Delhi for medical care and is now in serious condition and on a ventilator at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS).

                                                                        During the attack, a group of armed terrorists opened fire on about 500 tourists enjoying themselves in the beautiful Baisaran grasslands. Sadly, at least 26 people lost their lives, including 25 tourists, making this the deadliest incident in Kashmir since the government changed the region’s special status in 2019. Dr. Parmeshwaran is one of 17 people who were hurt.

                                                                               Dr. Parmeshwaran suffered serious injuries to his neck and abdomen. After emergency surgery at a local hospital in Anantnag, he was airlifted to AIIMS in New Delhi on April 24, 2025. Right now, he is in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and being monitored closely by doctors. His recovery is uncertain and he needs a lot of support.
