The third season of the show based on Lee Child’s Jack Reacher books is now streaming on Amazon Prime Video. People love the show for its great tone and the lead actor, Alan Ritchson. He takes over the role from Tom Cruise, who played Jack Reacher in two movies.

Lee Child, the author of the books, recently talked about the differences between Tom Cruise and Alan Ritchson. Many book fans weren’t happy with Tom Cruise as Jack Reacher, mainly because he’s only 5-foot-7 tall, while the character is supposed to be a giant at 6-foot-5.

In an interview, Lee Child said he thought the first Jack Reacher movie was really good and that working with Tom was a great experience. However, he acknowledged that Tom isn’t the right physical match for the character. Reacher is meant to be big, strong, and somewhat scary, and Tom just doesn’t fit that image.

Now, with Alan Ritchson in the role, Child says it works perfectly. He believes Ritchson was meant to play Reacher because he matches the character’s size and presence. “He is huge! And very scary,” Child stated.

The show started in 2022 and has already released two seasons, with the third season premiering last week. A new show featuring the character Neagley is also in the works.
