New Delhi: Indian External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar met with Kamel Zayed, the Egyptian Ambassador to India, on Friday. They talked about strengthening their countries’ friendship, especially in fighting terrorism. Jaishankar thanked Egypt for its support in this battle.
Earlier that day, Jaishankar also met with the ambassadors from Israel and Argentina. They discussed various important topics, including the recent terror attack in Pahalgam, which was very shocking and condemned by many.
In his updates on social media, Jaishankar mentioned how he appreciated Israel’s help in battling cross-border terrorism during his discussion with Ambassador Reuven Azar. He also welcomed Argentina’s strong statement against the Pahalgam attack and talked about improving ties between India and Argentina.
On the same day, ambassadors from countries like the US, Israel, and Spain visited the Ministry of External Affairs. Ambassador Reuven Azar called the Pahalgam attack a critical moment and emphasized that they discussed how to work together against terrorism.
Just the day before, the Indian Foreign Secretary briefed ambassadors from Germany, Japan, Poland, the UK, and Russia about the Pahalgam attack. After this tragic event, the Indian government took several diplomatic actions, such as closing the Integrated Check Post at Attari, stopping the SAARC Visa Exemption for Pakistani nationals, and reducing staff in both countries’ embassies.
