Prime Minister Narendra Modi of India and President Emmanuel Macron from France met on Wednesday to talk about how to make trade and investment between their countries better. They also agreed to work together more closely in the Indo-Pacific region and on global issues. After their discussions, both leaders expressed their desire to make the global artificial intelligence (AI) industry serve the public good in social, economic, and environmental ways.
A joint statement released after their meeting highlighted that they discussed a wide range of topics important for both countries, including pressing global problems. They emphasized the urgent need to reform the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) and promised to work together closely on these matters. President Macron showed strong support for India to get a permanent seat on the UNSC. They both reaffirmed their commitment to the India-France Strategic Partnership, which has grown into a strong and complex relationship over the past 25 years.
