NEW DELHI: A sad accident happened on Monday evening in Butibori town, eastern Maharashtra. A 34-year-old man named Suraj Chavan was learning to drive when he accidentally pressed the gas pedal instead of the brake. This made his car zoom straight into a nearby well.

Suraj was with his younger brother, Sajan Chavan (27), and their friend, Sandeep Chavan (27), at the time. They had come to a place called Bal Bharati Ground to help Suraj learn driving for the first time. Sadly, the car was found in the well the next morning after someone noticed it.

The police reported that the accident took place on Monday night, but it wasn’t until Tuesday morning that the car was discovered. Officers from the Butibori police pulled the vehicle out and found the three men inside. Their bodies were sent to a hospital in Nagpur for examination.

In another incident nearby, a car hit a cement block on a service road on Wardha Road. The driver, Jeevan Kondawar, lost control while making a turn and was pronounced dead at the hospital. A passenger named Saurabh Belsare was hurt and is currently receiving treatment.
