In Bolpur, West Bengal, a serious fire broke out at a residential building, leading to the tragic deaths of two people and injuries to four others, including two children. The fire started on the first floor of a five-story building on Monday evening.
Firefighters arrived quickly but found it hard to control the flames. They had to call in two additional fire engines to help put it out. Many residents were trapped inside, but firefighters bravely rescued them by breaking an iron grill and using a tall ladder.
The injured were taken to Bolpur Sub-Divisional Hospital, but sadly, two of them passed away from their injuries there. The rescue operation is still ongoing, and the exact cause of the fire is not yet known, according to Birbhum Superintendent of Police Amandeep.
