On Monday, VA Tech Wabag, a company that specializes in water technology, announced that it has secured a big contract worth Rs 3,251 crore (about $317 million) for building a sewage treatment plant in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This project will help treat 200 million liters of sewage every day!
The contract is part of a team effort with other companies. Wabag will lead the project and is working with the Miahona Company and Marafiq, while another partner, Mutlaq Al-Ghowairi Contracting Company, will build the pipelines and tanks for the sewage plant.
This new sewage treatment plant will help improve water quality and living conditions in Riyadh. It is part of Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, a plan to enhance services for its residents.
Earlier this year, Wabag also got another contract for a smaller sewage treatment plant at the Ras Tanura Refinery Complex in Saudi Arabia.
Sivakumar V, who is in charge of Sales and Marketing at VA Tech Wabag, said this new project shows off their advanced technology and commitment to quality. He believes this wins marks an important step for the company in Saudi Arabia and highlights its leadership in the Middle East.
