In Manipur’s Thoubal district, a group of armed thieves stole weapons from a police outpost late on Saturday night, officials said. The thieves drove in several vehicles to the IRB (India Reserve Battalion) outpost in the Kakmayai area.
They took away at least six Self-Loading Rifles (SLRs) and three AK rifles from the police personnel. Along with the guns, the thieves also stole about 270 bullets and 12 magazines of ammunition.
In response to this incident, more security forces have been sent to the area to look for the thieves and search for clues. Authorities are also investigating how this robbery happened.
