Prime Minister Narendra Modi thanked the people of Delhi on Saturday for supporting the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the recent elections. He promised to improve the city with top-notch infrastructure and services. He assured that there would be serious action against anyone involved in corruption and said every suspicious activity would be looked into.
Modi said the BJP’s victory is not just a win; it shows that people are tired of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and their failures. He expressed his commitment to revitalize the River Yamuna, a major issue during the elections, and promised that the report on a disputed alcohol policy would be presented in the first meeting of the Delhi Assembly. “If anyone has stolen money, they will have to return it,” he said.
He criticized the previous government for not implementing important projects and not providing homes for the poor. Delhi deserves to be a modern city with world-class services. Modi emphasized that now the BJP has power throughout the National Capital Region, which will help with growth and opportunities.
He blamed the AAP for not properly addressing the Yamuna’s cleanliness and accused them of betraying the public’s trust. Modi believes urbanization should help the poor, not just serve the wealthy.
He also attacked the Congress party, calling it a “parasite” that harms its allies and saying it has not won a single seat in the last six elections in Delhi. He mocked the opposition alliance, stating that they could not save the AAP.
Modi encouraged young people to get involved in politics, so that cleverness doesn’t win over common sense. BJP president JP Nadda joined him, stating that Modi resides in the hearts of the people and has transformed politics in Delhi.
