Social activist Anna Hazare spoke out on Saturday about the early results of the Delhi election. He expressed disappointment in Arvind Kejriwal, the leader of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). Hazare said that he had advised Kejriwal against focusing on liquor campaigns but felt that Kejriwal didn’t listen.

“I believe that a good candidate should have a pure character and live a life without blame. These qualities help voters trust them,” Hazare stated. He accused Kejriwal of being “overwhelmed by power and money.”

When asked about the ongoing mud-slinging between the AAP and BJP, Hazare said politics often involves accusations. He emphasized that even when someone faces allegations, it’s their job to prove they are innocent.

Hazare also shared why he chose not to join the AAP. He mentioned that he decided during a party meeting, which he didn’t specify when, that he would stay away from their activities.

Early trends from the Delhi election show that the BJP might gain a majority, something they haven’t achieved in a long time. Meanwhile, AAP is currently trailing behind according to estimates from the Election Commission of India.
