Fancode Halts PSL 2025 Broadcast Following Kashmir Terror Attack

Fancode, an Indian live streaming platform, has decided to stop showing the remaining matches of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2025. This decision came after a terrible terrorist attack in Pahalgam, South Kashmir, on Tuesday, which sadly killed 26 people.

Fancode was the only official platform in India that broadcasted PSL matches and had already shown the first 13 games. However, following the attack, the platform removed all information about upcoming matches and clips from the games. This choice will greatly affect the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) since fewer people will be watching.

                                                                            What Happened in Pahalgam?

On Tuesday, terrorists attacked civilians in Baisaran meadows in Pahalgam, making it one of the most tragic incidents in the area since the 2019 Pulwama attack, where 40 CRPF personnel died. This time, the Resistance Front, linked to the banned terror group Lashkar-e-Taiba, claimed responsibility. Many people around the world have condemned this violence.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) also spoke out against the attack, calling it a “cowardly act.” BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia expressed deep sorrow for the victims’ families, stating, “We stand together during this sad time.”

To honor the victims, players and officials in the IPL 2025 game between Mumbai Indians and Sunrisers Hyderabad wore black armbands, observed a minute of silence, and avoided any entertainment like music or cheerleaders.
