BLACKPINK’s Jennie is on a roll! Recently, she wowed her fans at the Coachella 2025 music festival. Many loved her performance of her popular songs like “Starlight,” “Like Jennie,” “Mantra,” and “Solo.” In a sweet moment, she changed a line in “Starlight” to honor her mom, who was watching her perform.
Exciting news! After her amazing show, “Like Jennie” made it back onto the Billboard Top 100 chart, landing at the 96th spot. This song, released in March, first debuted at 83rd and stayed on the chart for two weeks. It even jumped to 4th place on the Global Excl. U.S. chart and reached 6th on the Global 200!
Jennie also celebrated her first full-length album, “Ruby.” It has set records and is now the second-longest-charting album by a female K-pop solo artist on the Billboard 200. “Ruby” began its journey at 7th place and climbed back to 81st in its sixth week. Jennie fans are excited because she is only behind her BLACKPINK friend, Rosé, as the top female solo artist in this chart.
“Ruby” has 15 songs, including “Seoul City,” “Start a War,” “ZEN,” and “Starlight.” She worked with many famous artists like Doechii, FKJ, Dua Lipa, Dominic Fike, Childish Gambino, and Kali Uchis. The album also features her hit song “Mantra” from 2024.
When “Like Jennie” first came out, some fans noticed it sounded a bit like a song from an Indian movie called “Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani.” This led to discussions about whether Jennie copied it. However, Indian music composer Pritam stood up for her during this debate. “Like Jennie” has an upbeat tune and catchy lyrics, sparking fun dance challenges all around the world, with many celebrities joining in the trend!
