Nifty Realty Index Declines as Mahindra Lifespace Gains

New Delhi: The Nifty Realty index, which tracks real estate stocks, ended on a low note on Thursday. Mahindra Lifespace Developers Ltd. saw a small gain, going up by 1.48%, making it the best performer in real estate shares. However, many other companies faced losses. Macrotech Developers Ltd. dropped by 3.39%, Prestige Estates Projects Ltd. fell by 2.26%, and Oberoi Realty Ltd. decreased by 1.59%. Other companies, including Brigade Enterprises Ltd. and DLF Ltd., also lost value, finishing down by 1.09% and 1.05% respectively.

Overall, the Nifty Realty index closed down by 1.41%, at a score of 884.15. The main stock index, the NSE Nifty50, closed lower as well, down by 82.25 points at 24,246.7. Meanwhile, the BSE Sensex also fell, down by 315.06 points, standing at 79,801.43. Out of the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 20 rose in value, while 30 went down.

In trading activity today, Vodafone Idea, Reliance Power, Suzlon Energy, YES Bank, and IDFC First Bank were among the most actively traded shares. Additionally, some companies like Country Condos, Anzen India Energy, Bannari Amman, Synergy Green Ind, and Mangalore Chem reached their highest stock prices in the past year. Meanwhile, companies such as GI Engineering, Gensol Engg, Revathi Equipment In, IndInfravit Trust, and BDR Buildcon hit their lowest prices in the past year.
