On Wednesday morning, important leaders like Union ministers S. Jaishankar and Hardeep Singh Puri, along with Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, voted in the Delhi Assembly elections. Other early voters included AAP’s Manish Sisodia, Delhi BJP president Virendra Sachdeva, and Delhi Police Commissioner Sanjay Arora.

The voting began at 7 am, and many candidates also cast their votes. These included AAP’s Saurabh Bharadwaj, BJP’s Kapil Mishra, and Congress’ Sandeep Dikshit and Alka Lamba.

There are around 1.56 crore people eligible to vote in Delhi. This election is exciting because three main parties—AAP, BJP, and Congress—are competing. AAP wants to win for the third time in a row, while BJP and Congress are trying to make a comeback.

Voting is happening at 13,766 places across Delhi’s 70 assembly areas, deciding the future of 699 candidates. The election results will be shared on February 8.
