On Monday, three cricket superstars – Chris Gayle, Makhaya Ntini, and Monty Panesar – officially joined the first season of the International Masters League (IML).
Chris Gayle, known as the ‘Universe Boss’, will play for the West Indies Masters team. Makhaya Ntini, the famous South African bowler, and England’s left-arm spinner Monty Panesar will represent their countries too.
The IML will take place from February 22 to March 16, with matches held in Navi Mumbai, Rajkot, and Raipur. This exciting tournament features cricket legends from all around the world!
Chris Gayle, who is famous for his powerful hitting and recently retired from international cricket, expressed his excitement: “I’m thrilled to be back on the field and entertain everyone. The IML is a great chance to relive unforgettable moments and show my skills again!”
Makhaya Ntini, known for his strong bowling and great energy, shared his pride about playing as part of the South Africa Masters: “This is a special opportunity for all of us legends to come together. We promise to give an unforgettable performance!”
Monty Panesar, admired for his success in India a few years back, also shared his enthusiasm: “I am excited to represent the England Masters in this tournament. We are determined to win and show the world what cricketing legends can do!”
Fans can expect a thrilling cricket experience as many retired players come back to play. The IML matches will be live streamed on Disney+ Hotstar and available on Colors Cineplex (SD & HD) and Colors Cineplex Superhits. The games will start at 7:30 PM!
