Congress leader Rahul Gandhi sharply criticized former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal during a rally in Hauz Qazi Chowk. He pointed out how Kejriwal, who once drove a small WagonR car, now lives in a huge mansion worth Rs 45 crore, which Gandhi called a ‘Sheesh Mahal’.
Gandhi challenged Kejriwal to drink tap water from Delhi, saying the quality was still bad even after Kejriwal promised to clean the Yamuna River. Holding the bottle, Gandhi joked that if Kejriwal drank it, he would end up in the hospital. He accused Kejriwal of making empty promises, just like Prime Minister Narendra Modi. “Kejriwal said he would change things, but instead, he ended up living in luxury while poor people drink dirty water,” Gandhi stated.
He also brought up a liquor scam involving AAP and claimed Kejriwal did not support victims during the 2020 Delhi riots. Gandhi recalled how he stood with victims, but Kejriwal was nowhere to be found.
Looking ahead to the February elections, he described it as a battle of ideas. He contrasted the Congress party, which promotes love and unity, against the BJP, which he accused of spreading hate. Gandhi argued that Modi creates division to help rich businessmen like Adani. He said history would remember Mahatma Gandhi for his teachings of peace, not the hate spread by others.
