India Takes Tough Steps After Pahalgam Terror Attack: Key Updates

The Indian government’s Ministry of External Affairs held a press conference to talk about new decisions made after the recent terror attack in Pahalgam. Here are the key points:

                                                                                1. The Indus Water Treaty, which talks about sharing river water with Pakistan, is on hold starting now.
2. The Wagah-Attari border checkpost will be closed immediately.
3. All Pakistanis currently in India must return home before May 1, and their visas have been canceled.
4. No visas will be given to Pakistanis who want to visit SAARC countries.
5. The number of staff at the High Commission from Pakistan will be reduced to 30.
6. Defence and military advisors from Pakistan are now not allowed to work in India.

                                                                               This meeting to discuss these decisions happened after Prime Minister Narendra Modi quickly returned from Saudi Arabia when he heard about the attack in Pahalgam. The meeting was attended by important leaders like Home Minister Amit Shah, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, and External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar.
