A man’s social media post from Karnataka has sparked a big discussion about whether people from the state should get jobs before outsiders. He encouraged employers in Karnataka to hire local people who speak Kannada, saying that even though Kannadigas have talents, they often struggle to find jobs in their own city.
His post said, “Dear Kannadigas, if you’re hiring, choose Kannadigas first. We have skills, but we lack support. Why fight for jobs in our own city? Be strong and hire local people.”
However, many people online didn’t agree with this idea. Some said that businesses need skilled workers, not just people from a specific place. One user pointed out that this way of thinking could just lead to more divisions in the country.
Another person joked about creating a special version of a job website just for Kannadigas, saying he just wants to hire people who are ready to work hard. Others sent the message that workplaces should focus on talent over regional identity, as that will help both employees and companies grow
