On the day before his big confirmation hearing, President Donald Trump’s choice for FBI director, Kash Patel, shared his plans for the FBI. Patel, who is 44 years old and one of the highest-ranking Indian-Americans in the Trump administration, has two main goals: making the FBI more transparent and helping the good agents do their important work.

In an article published in a well-known newspaper, Patel wrote that to make people trust the FBI again, two things are really important. First, let the good agents do their jobs. He believes that strong leaders should support the agents in catching bad guys and keeping people safe. If he gets the job, Patel wants to improve how things work at FBI headquarters and make sure that agents in the field have more support. He also thinks it’s very important to work together with local police.

Second, Patel said that being open is vital. He pointed out that many members of Congress have questions that the FBI has not answered. If he becomes FBI director, he promises to make sure the FBI talks openly with Congress to help rebuild trust.

Patel said he is ready to work with the brave FBI agents, calling them heroes who protect justice. He believes they have the support of the American people, and he will stand by them. Patel also mentioned that he wants to work closely with the Justice Department to make communities safer.

He shared a little about his Indian-American background, saying he carries the hopes of many people who believe in fairness and justice. If confirmed, he would be the first Indian-American to lead the FBI. Patel talked about how his family taught him the value of justice and education, which drives him to protect people’s rights.

He emphasized that if he gets the role, he will stay focused on the FBI’s main job and not get involved in legal decisions, which should be handled by the Justice Department. Patel said his mission is to investigate criminals and keep the nation safe while respecting due process and being transparent.
