On Wednesday, the Congress party criticized the Delhi government, which is led by the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), because of 14 controversial reports from the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG). Congress spokesperson Pawan Khera accused Arvind Kejriwal, the AAP leader, of being silent now when many CAG reports point out issues with his government. Khera reminded everyone that Kejriwal used to carry around fake drafts of CAG reports to attack Congress when they were in power.

Khera challenged Kejriwal to debate with him about these CAG reports, asking, “Has he even read his CAG reports? He used to travel around talking about fake reports against us, but now that the reports are against him, he is quiet.” He added, “If he has the guts, let’s debate about his CAG reports.”

The criticism followed Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s strong words against Kejriwal regarding a liquor policy scam. Gandhi reminded people how Kejriwal used to come in a small car campaigning against corruption but is now linked to a significant scam.

In response, Kejriwal attacked Gandhi, mentioning controversies surrounding Gandhi’s family, including the National Herald case.

The controversy centers around the CAG reports that criticize the AAP government for various issues like the excise policy, the renovation of the Chief Minister’s home, pollution from cars, public health, and how well government departments are doing. This is important because Delhi’s assembly elections are coming up on February 5, with results reported on February 8.
