BJP Unveils New Promises for Delhi Elections: Free Education & More!

Union Home Minister Amit Shah is set to share more details about the BJP’s plans for the upcoming Delhi elections this Saturday. In the first part of their promise, the BJP said they would keep current welfare programs running in Delhi. In a second announcement, they promised more help, including free education from preschool to postgraduate for students who need it at Delhi government schools. They will also give cash support of Rs 15,000 to young people traveling to take important entrance exams.

Students from Scheduled Castes studying in technical and professional courses will get a monthly allowance of Rs 1,000, according to the BJP.

The BJP has chosen candidates for 68 out of 70 areas, leaving two for their alliance partners. The JD(U) will run in Burari with their candidate Shailendra Kumar and the LJP (Ram Vilas) will run in Deoli, but they haven’t chosen their candidate yet.

Some important candidates from BJP are Dushyant Gautam in Karol Bagh, Manjinder Singh Sirsa in Rajouri Garden, and Arvinder Singh Lovely in Gandhi Nagar. Parvesh Verma will try to defeat Arvind Kejriwal in New Delhi, while Ramesh Bidhuri will compete against AAP’s Atishi in Kalkaji.

The elections will be a three-way battle between AAP, BJP, and Congress. Congress has picked Sandeep Dikshit, the son of former Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit, to run for New Delhi.

The AAP, which won most of the seats in the last election by taking 62 out of 70, has chosen candidates for all areas, while Congress has also announced candidates for 68 areas.

The election schedule is moving fast! The last date to file nominations is January 17, nomination checks will be on January 18, and candidates can drop out until January 20. Voting will take place on February 5, and counting of votes will happen on February 8.
