As Delhi gets ready for the assembly election on February 5, political leaders are using catchy slogans and clever phrases to grab attention. The competition is fierce among the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), and Congress, with each party coming up with funny names and digs at each other.

The AAP has labeled the BJP as the “Bharatiya Jhootha Party” (Indian Lying Party) and “Gali Galouch Party” (Street Foul Language Party), accusing them of breaking promises like creating two crore jobs every year. In response, Prime Minister Narendra Modi mocked AAP’s leader Arvind Kejriwal by calling him “Ghoshna Mantri” (Announcement Minister), claiming that Kejriwal is good at making promises but not delivering results.

Adding to the fun, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann joined in with a humorous warning to voters, saying, “Don’t even look at the BJP’s lotus symbol, or you might get ‘motiyabind’ (cataract) from their corruption.”

Congress is in on the jokes too; they called Kejriwal “Farziwal” (Fake Kejriwal) and said he is just a “Chhota Recharge” (Small Recharge) of Modi, suggesting that he is imitating the BJP’s ways.

These playful insults have led to many memes and jokes on social media, making the election season entertaining.

The elections will take place in one phase, with votes counted on February 8. A total of 699 candidates are in the race for 70 seats. In the past two elections, AAP has been very successful, winning most seats while BJP and Congress struggled.
