On Thursday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi talked about how over 1,200 electric buses from the central government are now running in Delhi to help lower pollution. He also mentioned a program that encourages people to install solar panels on their rooftops to produce clean energy.

Modi spoke during an event at the old Parliament building, where important people, including Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, paid tribute to the great freedom fighter Subhas Chandra Bose on his birthday. When a student was asked which slogan from Bose inspires her, she mentioned “Give me blood and I promise you freedom.” She explained that Bose showed real leadership by putting his country first, which still motivates students today.

The student highlighted that electric vehicles and buses are part of efforts to protect the environment. The Prime Minister added that many more electric buses would come to Delhi soon. He also talked about the ‘PM Suryagarh Yojana’, a plan to fight climate change by installing solar panels on homes. This helps people make their own electricity and avoid high electricity bills. The energy created can even charge electric vehicles, helping to save money on gas and reduce pollution.

Modi encouraged students to know that any extra electricity they generate could be sold back to the government for money.
