The board of Bharat Petroleum Corporation (BPCL) announced an interim dividend of Rs 5 for each share on January 22, 2025. They set January 29, 2025, as the date to see who will get this dividend. In a letter, BPCL stated that this dividend comes to 50% for the 2024-25 financial year.
Shareholders will receive their dividends by February 20, 2025. In the past year, BPCL gave out Rs 10.50 in dividends per share, which means with the current share price of Rs 278.10, the dividend yield is 3.78%. BPCL has paid dividends 41 times since June 2001.
In recent news, BPCL reported a 20% increase in net profit for the December quarter, earning Rs 3,806 crore compared to Rs 3,181 crore last year. However, this was lower than analysts expected, which was Rs 5,200 crore. Their profit also rose 66% from the previous quarter. Total revenue rose significantly, with a jump of 81% from the previous quarter.
Looking at the BPCL stock, shares have increased by 15% over the past year but have fallen about 10% in the last six months, and 14% in the last three months. BPCL shares closed down 0.9% at Rs 277.70 on Wednesday.
