Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and his team had an important meeting at the Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj on Wednesday. Before starting the meeting, they all took a holy dip in the Sangam, a sacred place where two rivers meet, and had some fun splashing water on each other!
However, former Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav did not like their choice of location for the meeting. He said, “The Kumbh is a holy place, and it shouldn’t be used for politics. Many of us from the Samajwadi Party also came to take a holy dip but we didn’t post pictures or talk about it.”
During the meeting, CM Yogi announced some exciting new initiatives to help the state grow. They approved plans to build three new medical colleges in Hathras, Kasganj, and Baghpat. Also, they plan to establish 62 new Industrial Training Institutes and five centers to help people learn new skills.
Renewal of Aerospace and Defence Policy
The cabinet also decided to continue their Aerospace and Defence policy, which has been in place for five years. CM Yogi said, “We are introducing new incentives to draw in more investments.”
Municipal Corporation Bonds for City Growth
Prayagraj, Varanasi, and Agra will also issue municipal corporation bonds, similar to what was done in Lucknow and Ghaziabad. CM Yogi praised this method saying it helps improve city branding and development.
Development Plans for Regions
There will be a new development area that combines Prayagraj and Chitrakoot, similar to how Lucknow’s State Capital Region is developed. CM Yogi said, “This plan fits with the Prime Minister’s vision for sustainable growth.” They will also create a similar plan for Varanasi with help from NITI Aayog.
Ganga Expressway Expansion
Lastly, the Ganga Expressway will be expanded to connect key places like Prayagraj, Mirzapur, Bhadohi, Varanasi, Chandauli, and Ghazipur, linking them to the Purvanchal Expressway. CM Yogi explained, “With this expressway, Sonbhadra will connect directly to the National Highway.”
