The Assam Industrial Development Corporation Ltd (AIDC) teamed up with FICCI to hold a roadshow in Bengaluru, building excitement for the upcoming Advantage Assam 2.0 Investment and Infrastructure Summit. This important event is set to happen on February 25-26, 2025, in Guwahati.

Ashok Singhal, the Health and Family Welfare Minister, spoke about how great Assam’s location is. He mentioned that Assam is close to South and Southeast Asia, so many people—about 30% of the world’s population—can reach it in just a few hours by plane.

Singhal shared that Assam has changed a lot. It went from having problems to becoming a peaceful and growing place. The state’s economy, which was $29 billion in 2013-14, has now risen to $68.7 billion in 2023-24, and he expects it to reach $143 billion by 2030!

The Minister explained that Assam is focused on boosting the economy by improving infrastructure, creating renewable energy, and helping people get better jobs. He highlighted exciting projects like India’s first International Multi-Modal Logistics Park at Jogighopa and the Dhubri-Phulbari Bridge over the Brahmaputra River. Assam is also working on new industries like electronics, pharmaceutical products, food processing, and fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG).

Assam is also going green by using solar energy, making green hydrogen, and producing green ammonia. The state is welcoming new businesses, research centers, and partnerships in defense technology.

With its seven national parks and three UNESCO World Heritage Sites, Assam is perfect for eco-friendly tourism. Singhal reassured everyone that the state is creating a business-friendly atmosphere and has a quick approval system that has processed over 2.5 million requests recently.

New policies, such as the Industrial & Investment Policy of Assam and the Assam Electronics Policy, are helping businesses grow. The ESDM Policy and Green Hydrogen Policy are making Assam a leader in new technologies. Singhal also talked about how initiatives like the Act East Policy and UNNATI Scheme provide great perks for investments in Northeast India.

The big Advantage Assam 2.0 Summit will include a colorful Jhumur dance performance by 10,000 youth on February 24. Expect the Prime Minister of India and many key leaders from India and around the world to attend.

“We welcome everyone to discover the endless chances Assam has to offer,” said Singhal. “Our government is ready to support businesses and investors.” He concluded by saying Assam is an important gateway to Southeast Asia, helping create better supply chains in the region.

Let’s unite to tap into Assam’s potential for a bright future filled with growth and innovation!
