During the joyous celebrations of the Maha Kumbh Mela, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath of Uttar Pradesh met with a group from Italy. Mahi Guruji, who runs a Meditation and Yoga Center in Italy, visited the Chief Minister in Lucknow with his followers.
Women who just came back from the Prayagraj Mahakumbh shared beautiful songs like the Ramayana and Shiv Tandava in front of the Chief Minister. According to the Uttar Pradesh government, over 1.7 million pilgrims joined in the festivities by 8:00 AM on Sunday!
On the seventh day of this grand event, a massive crowd of over 1.7 million people gathered at Sangam Triveni, where 10 lakh Kalpvasis (people who live there for a month) and 7.02 lakh pilgrims took their sacred dip by 8 AM.
Despite the dense fog making it difficult to see, many devotees still showed up. As of January 18, over 77.2 million people have already taken part in this spiritual journey. The number of pilgrims is expected to grow even more in the coming days as four major bathing dates are still ahead. The Maha Kumbh Mela started on January 13 and will go on until February 26. The next important dates are January 29 (Mauni Amavasya – Second Shahi Snan), February 3 (Basant Panchami – Third Shahi Snan), February 12 (Maghi Purnima), and February 26 (Maha Shivaratri).
Spiritual leader Morari Bapu also arrived in Prayagraj on Saturday, sharing his excitement for the event. He said, “I am very happy to be here for the ‘katha’. The arrangements are excellent, and this is a very important festival for Sanatan Dharma and the spiritual world.”
The Maha Kumbh Mela continues to attract many devotees from all over the world, creating a powerful atmosphere filled with devotion and sacredness at the Triveni Sangam.
