A tragic accident occurred on Sunday in Bihar’s Katihar district when a boat carrying 17 people capsized in the Ganga River. Sadly, three people lost their lives, and four others are still missing. The incident happened near Golaghat in the Amdabad area, according to local officials.
So far, ten people have been rescued. Many of them managed to swim to the riverbank safely. A rescue operation is ongoing to find the remaining missing individuals. District Magistrate Manesh Kumar Meena announced that an investigation will be conducted to understand what caused the boat to overturn.
Among the deceased, two have been identified as Pawan Kumar, aged 60, and Sudhir Mandal, aged 70. The identity of the third victim has not yet been confirmed
