Amit Shah Launches Key Disaster Management Projects in Vijayawada

Amit Shah is set to open the Southern Campus of NIDM and several disaster management projects in Vijayawada, enhancing safety in the region.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah is visiting Vijayawada to launch important projects on Sunday. He will open the Southern Campus of the National Institute of Disaster Management (NIDM) and the 10th Battalion campus of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF). This event marks the 20th Foundation Day of the NDRF, where he will be the special guest.

Amit Shah arrived in Vijayawada on Saturday night and was welcomed at the airport by IT Minister Nara Lokesh and other local leaders. Afterward, he visited Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu’s home nearby.

Shah will unveil projects worth over Rs 200 crore. Besides opening the NIDM campus and the NDRF battalion, he will also open the Regional Response Centre (RRC) in Supaul and lay the foundation for RRC Gorakhpur. Moreover, he will release disaster awareness videos in 11 languages to help people learn about safety.

The southern NIDM campus was set up in Krishna district, Andhra Pradesh, to serve the needs of the southern region. Later in the day, Shah will also lay the foundation for a new shooting range at the National Police Academy in Hyderabad, where new police officers will practice their shooting skills. The Chief Minister and other ministers will join this important occasion. After the events, Shah will return to New Delhi by 5:10 PM.
