An Ohio woman named Amy Nelson is seeking revenge against Amazon’s founder, Jeff Bezos, after her husband, Carl Nelson, was accused of being part of a huge scheme to take money from Amazon. This accusation began in 2020 and has caused a long and painful legal fight for the Nelson family, affecting their finances and personal lives.
Amazon accused Carl Nelson, a former employee, of working with others to cheat the company by inflating land prices for Amazon’s data centers in Northern Virginia. They claim Carl and his co-workers were pocketing kickbacks from these deals.
The effects of these accusations on the Nelson family have been severe. Amy shared how the accusations forced them to leave their home in Seattle after the FBI seized it. With their assets frozen, they struggled financially and had to move several times before finally settling in Columbus, Ohio. Amy expressed deep sadness over losing their home and reputation, saying, “We can never get our jobs back. We can never get our reputation back.”
Recently, the Department of Justice (DOJ) decided not to continue with the case against Carl and others, stating it wasn’t in the best interests of justice. Carl’s lawyer, J.D. Thomas, was happy about this, believing it proved Amazon’s claims were unjustified.
However, Amazon is still pursuing a civil lawsuit against Carl, saying they need to protect their interests. Amy Nelson is not giving up. She posted on TikTok about the emotional toll the situation has had on her family – including the FBI raid while her children watched – and made it clear that they are still suffering due to Amazon’s actions.
In her passionate social media posts, Amy emphasized the importance of fighting for the truth. “This isn’t a game,” she said. “This is a life or livelihood.” She wants to restore her husband’s reputation and hold Amazon accountable.
Despite facing many challenges, Amy launched a new business called Cotton Candy and Dreams, which focuses on family experiences, as she works to rebuild their life and finances.
A judge also dismissed many of Amazon’s claims, stating they could not show they were harmed by the alleged scheme. Carl’s attorney, Alex Little, suggested that Amazon was misusing the DOJ for their benefit.
The legal issues aren’t over yet, but Amy is determined to fight until the end. “We just fought a massive battle against pillars of Seattle society,” she said, showing her resolve. The struggle has hurt her family, but they continue to fight for justice, sharing their experiences with others.
