Rohit Sharma, the captain of the Indian cricket team, is unsure about some new rules set by the BCCI, which is India’s cricket board. These rules were created by head coach Gautam Gambhir. Rohit plans to talk with the board’s secretary, Devajit Saikia, about his concerns, especially regarding family travel during long tours. The rules say families can only join players for 14 days. Many players aren’t happy with this guideline.
During a press conference, Rohit openly shared his need to discuss these issues, as many players are asking him about it. He questioned how the new rules were announced and mentioned he wouldn’t believe them until BCCI makes an official statement. Ajit Agarkar, the chairman of selectors, confirmed that there are new guidelines but didn’t explain why they are needed so soon after winning the T20 World Cup just six months ago.
Agarkar noted that every team has rules to follow. He said it’s not about punishing the players but about helping them work better as a team. He reminded everyone that players representing the national team need to follow certain protocols, which are normal in sports. Rohit assured everyone that when he is on the field, he makes his own decisions, and he trusts Gambhir to support him. Their communication happens off the field, so when they play, they focus on winning together.
