Two-time Olympic medalist PV Sindhu has officially joined PUMA India as their new brand ambassador! To celebrate this exciting moment, PUMA playfully changed its store signs to say ‘PVMA’, which left some fans scratching their heads, wondering if it was a mistake. One fan even shared a picture online, asking about the unusual spelling. To everyone’s surprise, Sindhu replied cheekily, “I did it!”
With this partnership, PUMA plans to not only create special products just for Sindhu but also launch a range of high-performance gear for badminton players! This collection will include shoes, accessories, and clothing designed to help players achieve their best.
Sindhu expressed her excitement, saying, “Badminton has helped me grow and discover myself. I hope to inspire everyone, especially girls, to take chances, have confidence, and set higher goals!”
PUMA already has a star-studded lineup of ambassadors like Harmanpreet Kaur (cricketer), Mohammed Shami (cricketer), Mary Kom (boxer), Usain Bolt (sprinter), and Neymar Jr. (footballer).
At just 29, Sindhu has made history as the first and only Indian to win a badminton world championship and only the second person from India to win two Olympic medals! In her career, she reached a top ranking of No. 2 in 2017 and has won five medals at the BWF World Championships. She won a silver medal at the 2016 Olympics and followed it with a bronze medal in Tokyo. Sindhu also snagged her first Superseries title at the 2016 China Open and won the 2018 BWF World Tour Finals.
She is currently the defending Commonwealth Games champion and has achieved three consecutive singles medals at the Commonwealth Games. She won silver at the Asian Games and has two bronze medals from the Uber Cup. Sindhu has also been listed among the highest-paid female athletes by NiftyStat in 2018, 2019, 2021, 2022, 2023, and 2024. Additionally, she has received several prestigious awards, including the Arjuna Award, Khel Ratna Award, Padma Bhushan, and Padma Shri.
