A content creator has caused a big stir after posting a video on Instagram, claiming that a restaurant in Hyderabad named ‘Amritsar Haveli’ is not following good food safety rules. The video, shared by the Instagram account @foodsafetywar, quickly went viral, making many people angry.
In the video, the creator shows that the restaurant is reusing leftover onions and chutney from one table to another. He starts by showing a dirty washing area in the restaurant, where dishes are being washed. He calls the area “horrific” and confronts the staff about the reuse of food.
He questions a waiter, asking why leftover onions and chutneys are being mixed with fresh ones. The waiter first denies it, saying, “These onions have been used and won’t go to another table.” But when the creator presses for more answers, he talks to the restaurant manager, who admits that they do reuse vinegar onions.
Frustrated by the mixed messages, the content creator exclaims, “You’ve changed your own version.” He then asks to see where leftover onions are thrown away, adding to the tension.
The caption for the video says, “At this branch of ‘Amritsar Haveli,’ corners are being cut in ways that shouldn’t be allowed: reusing chutneys and onions and having a dirty washing area.” The post also includes a disclaimer, claiming it aims to raise awareness about food safety and encourages viewers to check the facts themselves.
The video sparked outrage in the comments, with many people sharing their shock. One person wrote, “We are fools… we eat outside, but we end up getting such horrible food.” Another user criticized food safety rules in India, saying, “The FSSAI is a big joke in India.”
As of now, the restaurant has not made any official statement about the claims from the video
