The Odisha government has promised that farmers will receive money in their bank accounts within 48 hours after they sell their Kharif paddy.
To make sure this happens, the government has placed officials at different levels to watch and manage the whole process. On Friday, they ordered these officials to guarantee that registered farmers get their Minimum Support Price (MSP) for their Kharif paddy within the promised 48 hours. The money will go straight into their bank accounts.
The government has also made sure to set up ways to help farmers with any problems they might face. The Supplies department is taking care of this.
A new digital platform has been launched to help with these transactions. It will check farmers’ bank account details quickly and accurately. Once all the documents are verified, the money will be sent to the farmers’ accounts in just 48 hours.
This move by the Odisha government comes shortly after the Union government announced new price hikes for wheat and other crops for the 2025-26 Marketing Season
