New Delhi: Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri criticized the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Monday after the Delhi High Court said the party did not present important reports from the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) to the Assembly. Puri warned that voters would punish AAP in the upcoming elections for hiding these reports. The High Court mentioned that the government took too long, creating doubts about their intentions.

Puri stated that the AAP should have shared the CAG reports with the Assembly as soon as they received them so that everyone could discuss them. He noted that when the CAG audits something, it allows for feedback from everyone involved. Instead, he accused AAP of keeping the report hidden.

Puri also criticized AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal, who previously praised the CAG in 2017, saying that the party is now ignoring its findings. The High Court has set the next hearing for January 16. Puri believes this will reflect badly on AAP, and they will face a double setback: first from the court and then from voters in the February elections.

Delhi will hold Assembly elections on February 5, with results announced on February 8. In the past two elections, AAP won 67 seats in 2015 and 62 seats in 2020, while the BJP secured three seats in 2015 and eight seats in 2020. The Congress party has not won any seats in these elections.
