Ramesh Bidhuri, who is running for the Kalkaji assembly seat for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), denied Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Arvind Kejriwal’s claim that he would be the party’s candidate for chief minister. Bidhuri said Kejriwal is spreading false information about him.
Bidhuri, a former Member of Parliament (MP), declared, “I have been given a lot by the party, and I don’t want any high position. Kejriwal is misleading people about me. I want to make it clear that I’m not trying to become chief minister.”
He also suggested that Kejriwal’s statement means he believes the BJP will win the upcoming Delhi elections. “By speaking about me in this way, Kejriwal is admitting that his party will lose, since many people in Delhi are unhappy with him. They want to be free from issues like scams and poor public services,” he added.
Bidhuri is urging Delhi residents not to be fooled by Kejriwal’s comments and to support the BJP. He said, “Vote for the BJP, as we care about the people of Delhi,” emphasizing he is committed to serving the public without chasing any title.
Recently, Kejriwal challenged Bidhuri to a public debate, predicting that he will be named BJP’s chief minister candidate soon. Union Home Minister Amit Shah responded by saying he wouldn’t reveal who the BJP’s chief ministerial candidate will be. The Delhi elections will take place in one round on February 5, with results released on February 8.
