New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi believes that India can become a developed country with the help of its youth. He spoke at the Viksit Bharat Young Leaders Dialogue 2025, held in Delhi on National Youth Day, which celebrates the birth of Swami Vivekananda. Around 3,000 young people, aged 15 to 29, attended the event.
Modi praised Swami Vivekananda, saying he believed in the potential of India’s youth to overcome challenges. He said, “Just like Vivekananda believed in you, I believe in him and what he wanted for India’s youth.”
Referring to the G-20 Summit held in the same location in September 2023, Modi mentioned, “This is where world leaders talked about the future, and now India’s youth is shaping our own future for the next 25 years.”
He recalled a meeting with young athletes where one of them called him “param mitra,” meaning best friend. Modi expressed his deep trust in India’s youth, stating, “I truly believe that the dream of a developed India is possible with your strength. Some may doubt it, but I don’t. If we follow the vision of Viksit Bharat in all our decisions, we can’t be stopped from achieving our goal. A developed India will be strong in every way — economically, strategically, socially, and culturally.”
During the event, Modi also listened to youth leaders who shared ideas on women’s empowerment, sports, culture, startups, and infrastructure. He even released a book called “Yuva Shakti’s Vision for Viksit Bharat @ 2047.”
