Ira Jadhav, a 14-year-old cricket star from Mumbai, has set a record by being the first Indian to score a triple century in U19 limited-overs cricket! On Sunday, she scored an amazing 346 runs without getting out, hitting 42 fours and 16 sixes. Her team, Mumbai, made a huge total of 563 runs in just 50 overs against Meghalaya in the Women’s One Day Trophy, held in Alur, Karnataka.

Ira’s incredible batting performance not only broke the record for the highest U19 score by an Indian (previously held by Smriti Mandhana) but also made her the first Indian, whether man or woman, to achieve a triple century in any BCCI-organized limited-overs cricket tournament.

Ira started playing cricket when she was only eight years old. She even tried to join the WPL 2025 auction back in December, but she didn’t get any bids as one of the youngest players.

In an interview, Ira shared, “My cricket idol is Jemimah Rodrigues, a fellow Mumbaikar. I admire how she brings energy to the team and plays the game. I want to play for the Indian national team and represent India in the World Cup.”

Reflecting on her best moment, Jadhav recalled, “It was when I scored my first century (163 runs) in a mixed team match in Pune. That helped me believe that I could do really well in cricket!”
