Union Home Minister Amit Shah criticized Arvind Kejriwal, the leader of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), by saying that the toilet in his fancy ‘Sheesh Mahal’ costs more than all the houses in slums. Speaking at a meeting for slum residents in Delhi, Shah claimed that the AAP government has neglected people living in slums and hasn’t provided them with basic services like clean water.

He asked, “Why is Delhi the most polluted city in the world?” and challenged Kejriwal to step down if he couldn’t improve anything. Amit Shah also mentioned that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has helped over 3.58 crore poor people in India get homes, promising that every slum dweller will have a permanent house.

Shah accused Kejriwal of harming slum residents and ruining Delhi, saying, “If you turn on the tap, dirty water comes out. If you open a window, you smell something bad. The roads are broken everywhere. People even had trouble bathing during Chhath Puja because of the polluted Yamuna river.”

Kejriwal responded by saying Delhi residents will answer back to Amit Shah for his insults. He said, “I will show evidence of BJP’s bad plans at a press conference from a slum they want to demolish
