King Charles is trying to avoid repeating the fight between Prince Harry and Prince William with his brother, Prince Andrew. Andrew skipped Christmas with the royal family at Sandringham because he was linked to a possible scandal involving a Chinese “spy.” Instead, he spent the holiday with his ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson, at their home, Royal Lodge.

Royal Lodge has caused some arguments between Charles and Andrew because the King suggested that Andrew should move to Frogmore Cottage, which used to belong to Harry and Meghan. To encourage Andrew to leave, Charles cut his £1 million yearly allowance. However, Andrew found other funds and is still living in Royal Lodge.

A royal expert, Jennie Bond, said that Charles wants to keep things calm with Andrew. “Nothing changes the fact that Andrew is Charles’s brother,” she explained. She believes it’s important to see how the situation unfolds. If more negative stories about Andrew come out, it could affect whether he is invited to family gatherings.

Right now, Charles doesn’t want to make things worse by taking strict actions against Andrew. Additionally, there are already two royal brothers, Harry and William, who are not getting along after Harry and Meghan stepped back from royal duties in 2020. Bond said, “The family doesn’t need any more feuds.” She also mentioned that Andrew appears to be feeling down, and Charles worries that being harsh could hurt Andrew’s mental health even more.
