In 2025, the Bihar government announced new rules for state employees regarding holidays and workweeks. According to their notice from October 3, state government offices will have a five-day workweek, while regional offices like the divisional commissioner’s office will work six days a week.
Excitingly, two holidays have been declared for the 358th and 359th birth anniversaries of Guru Gobind Singh Ji this year!
The government also mentioned that some holidays may change based on when the moon is sighted, especially for Islamic holidays.
Restricted Holidays:
State government employees can take three additional holidays from the restricted holiday list.
