Misri Warns of Pakistan’s Terror Ties Amid Rising Tensions

On Thursday, India’s Foreign Secretary, Vikram Misri, made some strong comments about Pakistan and its history with terrorism. He reminded everyone about Osama bin Laden, the well-known terrorist, and pointed out that he was found living in Pakistan. Misri’s comments come after a terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, on April 22, which raised tensions between India and Pakistan.

Misri said, “I don’t need to remind you all where Bin Laden was found.” He mentioned that Pakistan has many terrorists who are banned by the United Nations and other countries. During a media briefing with Colonel Sofiya Qureshi and Wing Commander Vyomika Singh, Misri called the April 22 attack the “original escalation,” meaning it was the first big attack that made things worse.

He explained that India’s response was through a military operation called Operation Sindoor, which he described as a careful and fair reaction. Misri emphasized that India did not want to make things worse but simply needed to respond. He added, “We are going to meet with the UN 1267 Sanctions Monitoring Committee soon,” which is a group that watches over terror funding.

Misri also accused Pakistan of refusing to take responsibility for the Pahalgam attack and trying to distance itself from terrorism. He said, “You must have seen in the last few days, their Defence Minister and former Foreign Minister accepted their country’s involvement with such terror groups.” He concluded by mentioning that many terror attacks around the world point back to Pakistan.
