Jerome Powell: No Meetings with Presidents Ever!

Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell spoke on Wednesday, saying he doesn’t try to meet with any U.S. president. Instead, if he has ever met a president, it’s because the president wanted to talk to him first. Powell made this clear during a press conference after a meeting where they discussed the country’s money policies. He stated, “I’ve never asked for a meeting with any president, and I never will. There’s really no reason for me to do that. It’s always been the other way around.” This shows that Powell wants to keep a distance between the Fed and the government, focusing on his job to manage the nation’s economy.
