Filmmaker Karan Johar has opened up about bullying he faced as a child because of his body, voice, and the way he walked. In a chat with Raj Shamani, Karan shared how people used to tease him, but his parents, Yash Johar and Hiroo Johar, were always there to support him.
Karan talked about being told that he had a “girl’s voice.” He worked hard to change it by taking speaking classes for more than two years. He recalled, “The teachers told me that my voice could create problems for me, so they gave me voice exercises to sound more like a man.”
At first, Karan felt embarrassed and told his father he was taking computer classes instead of voice lessons. He wanted to sound different. After a few years of practice, his voice changed. However, now he believes that people should be proud of who they are. He said, “I wouldn’t tell anyone to change. Just be yourself and don’t change for others.”
Karan is a well-known director, famous for movies like “Kuch Kuch Hota Hai,” “Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham,” and “Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani.” He encourages everyone to embrace their uniqueness!
