India Responds to Terror Attacks: Strengthening National Security

On Wednesday, India’s Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri explained how India responded to cross-border attacks after the Pahalgam terror attack on April 22. He said, “This morning, India acted to stop future attacks. Our actions were careful, controlled, and responsible. We aimed to tackle the terrorist networks and stop people who might try to attack us.”

Misri highlighted that the Pahalgam attack was meant to create conflict between communities in Jammu and Kashmir and across India. “Thanks to the government and the people of India, they didn’t succeed in causing chaos,” he added.

Investigations into the attack showed that terrorists were communicating from Pakistan. Misri pointed out that groups like The Resistance Front and Lashkar-e-Taiba have been spreading information that reveals their links to these attacks. The authorities are identifying the attackers and have built a clear picture of those involved in planning the attack.

Misri mentioned that Pakistan is known as a safe place for terrorists. “Many terrorists with international warnings are safe there, and Pakistan has not been honest with the world about this,” he said.

He criticized the Pakistani government for not taking action against terrorist groups on its land. “Two weeks have gone by since the attacks, yet Pakistan has done nothing to address these threats. Instead, it only denies responsibility and blames others. Our intelligence shows that more attacks might happen, which is why we had to act quickly to stop them.”
