India Conducts Airstrikes on Terror Camps in Pakistan Following Pahalgam Attack

India has carried out airstrikes on terror camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir after learning about planned attacks against its people. This operation, called ‘Operation Sindoor’, was triggered by a terrible incident on April 22 in Pahalgam, where 25 Indian civilians and one Nepali citizen were killed by terrorists linked to a group called Lashkar-e-Taiba.

Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri explained that the government acted based on reliable information about further attacks that were being planned. He said, “We had solid intelligence that more attacks against India were coming, so we needed to respond to stop that.”

Misri emphasized that the airstrikes were carefully planned to avoid harming innocent people. He stated that Pakistan was directly linked to the recent attack, and the attack in Pahalgam showed that Pakistan supports these terrorists. He mentioned that some terrorists, like Sajid Mir (who was involved in the 2008 Mumbai attacks), only faced consequences when there was pressure from other countries.

Colonel Sofiya Qureshi also mentioned how the operation aimed to bring justice to the Pahalgam victims. She said that nine terrorist camps were hit during the strikes, and footage shown during the briefing displayed attacks on major terror locations in Pakistan, such as Muridke and Bahawalpur.

The Indian Air Force carefully targeted four sites within Pakistan and five sites in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. These areas were connected to groups like Jaish-e-Mohammed, Lashkar-e-Taiba, and Hizbul Mujahideen. The Ministry of Defence assured that no Pakistani military bases were affected, showing India’s careful approach in dealing with threats while trying to avoid further conflict.
