IAF Hits Nine Terror Camps in Operation Sindoor: What You Need to Know

The Indian Air Force (IAF) launched an operation called ‘Operation Sindoor’ to attack important hideouts of banned terrorist groups Jaish-e-Mohammed, Lashkar-e-Taiba, and Hizbul Mujahideen. This operation took place in the early hours of Wednesday and involved hitting nine locations in both Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.

The targets included camps used for training terrorists, such as Markaz Subhan Allah in Bahawalpur, Sarjal at Tehra Kalan, Markaz Abbas in Kotli, and Syedna Bilal camp in Muzaffarabad, all linked to Jaish-e-Mohammed. Other targets were Markaz Taiba at Murdike and Markaz Ahle Hadith at Barnala, connected to Lashkar-e-Taiba. Hizbul Mujahideen camps included Makaz Raheel Shahid in Kotli and Mehmoona Joya in Sialkot.

Out of these nine targets, four were in Pakistan, and five were in the areas that Pakistan controls. Sources noted that the Pakistani army and their intelligence agency, ISI, were involved in training terrorists at these camps, often using special forces.

This operation came just two weeks after a tragic attack where 26 civilians were killed in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. The Indian defense ministry stated that the military’s actions were precise, controlled, and aimed at not escalating tensions, ensuring that no Pakistani military facilities were hit.
