Telugu director Gopichand Malineni has just made his Bollywood debut with a movie called “Jaat,” featuring Sunny Deol. In a recent interview, he shared that he was initially supposed to make a film with popular Tamil actor Vijay. He said that Vijay liked his story a lot and agreed to it quickly. However, because Vijay was under pressure to work with a Tamil director for his final film before entering politics, he had to step back from Gopichand’s project.
Gopichand explained that Vijay had already made a movie called “Varisu” with a Telugu director, so his team preferred him to choose a Tamil filmmaker this time. After Vijay decided not to go ahead with Gopichand’s film, the director thought about casting Ravi Teja instead, but that plan hasn’t worked out yet.
As for Vijay, after his film “The Greatest of All Time,” everyone is excited about his upcoming movie called “Jana Nayagan.” This film, which is set for release on January 9, 2026, features Vijay along with Pooja Hegde and Bobby Deol, as well as other stars like Gautham Vasudev Menon and Prakash Raj. It’s especially intriguing as it will be Vijay’s last movie before he starts his political journey with his party, the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK).
