Iceland Cricket’s IPL 2025 Fraud Team: Big Names, Low Performances!

Iceland Cricket’s official social media account is known for its funny and blunt posts about cricket. On Monday, they shared a surprising post about IPL 2025, picking a team of the worst-performing players. They called it the “IPL 2025 Frauds and Scammers Team.”

This special team has 12 players, including five from Chennai Super Kings, two from Sunrisers Hyderabad, and one each from Delhi Capitals, Punjab Kings, Royal Challengers Bengaluru, Kolkata Knight Riders, and Lucknow Super Giants. The team features two of the most expensive buys in IPL history: Venkatesh Iyer (INR 23.75 crore) and Rishabh Pant (INR 27 crore). Pant is named the captain and wicketkeeper for this team.

The openers are CSK’s Rahul Tripathi and Rachin Ravindra, followed by Ishan Kishan and Pant in the top order. Iyer joins overseas stars Glenn Maxwell and Liam Livingstone in the middle order, with Deepak Hooda as the finisher.

The bowlers include one specialist spinner, R. Ashwin, and two fast bowlers, Matheesha Pathirana and Mohammed Shami. The 12th man is Mukesh Kumar from Delhi Capitals.

Iceland Cricket captioned the post: “On a rainy day in Reykjavik, here’s our IPL 2025 frauds and scammers team: R Tripathi, R Ravindra, I Kishan, R Pant (c & wk), V Iyer, G Maxwell, L Livingstone, D Hooda, R Ashwin, M Pathirana, M Shami; No impact player: M Kumar.”

Both Pant and Iyer had a tough season in IPL 2025. Pant scored 14 runs less than Iyer, who managed only 142 runs across 11 games. Both of their teams are struggling to reach the playoffs, with five wins in 11 games. KKR is slightly ahead in the table due to a washed-out match against Punjab Kings.
