Tejasvi Surya Demands NIA Probe into Suhas Shetty’s Murder Case

Bharatiya Janata Party MP Tejasvi Surya Shetty has written to Union Home Minister Amit Shah, asking the National Investigation Agency (NIA) to investigate the murder of Suhas Shetty. Tejasvi mentioned that the NIA has previously found the involvement of the Popular Front of India (PFI) in similar murders, and there are worries that they might have a role in this case too. He believes that having a central agency look into the murder will lead to a fair and thorough investigation, helping catch the people responsible.

Earlier, Karnataka Home Minister G Parameshwara stated that police have arrested eight people connected to Suhas Shetty’s murder. He also said the state government plans to create an anti-communal task force to take action against anyone involved in communal violence.

During a media briefing, Parameshwara noted that the police have effectively prevented communal tensions from rising in Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts, which often attract attention due to such issues. After Suhas Shetty’s murder, there were concerns about unrest, but the police swiftly acted to maintain peace.

Suhas Shetty was killed on Thursday evening in Mangaluru by a group of unidentified men. He was the main suspect in a previous murder case involving a person named Fazil.
